The lymphatic system
The lymphatic system is one of the most important parts of the immune system. It’s main function is to protect the body from disease and infection. With our lifestyles now, our body’s have become very stagnant, this creates a stagnant lymphatic system and allows toxins to pool in the body.
What is the lymphatic system?
The lymphatic system is composed of a large system of vessels (veins and capillaries), nodes (small filters), and organs that are branched out throughout the body. The vessels carry the lymph fluid to your lymph nodes and is then transferred to the liver for the body is eliminate.
Lymph Nodes
These are small, kidney bean shaped organs that are found throughout the body. The largest nodes can be found in the neck, armpits, groin, elbows and back of the knees. The body contains hundreds of these little filters.
Lymphatic Vessels
Similar to blood vessels, these circulate lymphatic fluid throughout the body. Wherever there is a blood vessel there is a lymph vessel.
How does the lymphatic system function?
